Lancaster County with Helga and Howie

KAREN AND KEITH GRADUATE FROM PRETZEL TWISTER SCHOOL

Yesterday (Saturday, Aug. 22) we visited our good friends Helga and Howie Lapidas. They are up from Florida and staying in a townhouse outside of Lancaster.

We had a GREAT visit.

We visited the Sturgis Pretzel Factory in Litiz PA where we got our Official Pretzel Twister Degree.

Here is our degree, along with a photo of us standing next to the pretzel we made.

The pretzel was too large to put into the car, so we left it on the front porch for others to admire.

Helga and Howie attended the same class as we did ... and they are TRYING to claim that they made OUR pretzel ... but WE know better!

We also visited the Wilber Chocolate Factory! I would love to show you a picture of the chocolate that we bought ... BUT ... we ate it all up!

TREES ... TREES ... TREES

I just can't get away from branches. First my pine tree looses it's top in a rain and wind storm ... and now the Township wants me to cut the trees that overhang the road. They want a 14 foot clearance!

Guess what I was doing all day Sunday. And now that they are cut, I have to cut them up so someone can haul them away. Ah ... the joys of home ownership!

Ah ... Cape Cod

It seems so long ago ... but the memories are wonderful. There is just no place like Cape Cod for getting back to basics. The sheer beauty of the sand and surf is overwhelming. We spent 5 relaxing days ... just resting and eating. Nothing like seafood and Cape Cod.
